I used Spirit to JB my 3GS, worked fine, but I only managed to access my root after I read your comment and installed afc2add.
Now my JB is working 100%.

hey, i forgot my android lock passcode, so i did this but when i click on the root in the bottom left it says i need jailbroken device, but my ipod touch IS jalbroken what do i do?

jerrick818 is %100 correct, install “afc2add” from Cydia and reboot and it will get rid of your “needs to be jailbroken” problem.
I think the solution to this “unable to go into root” problem is to go to Cydia, and search and install “afc2add”.
Install it then reboot your device and everything should be fine after that

It says you need a jailbroken ipod, and my iPod is jailbroken…

ya just download afc2add on cydia Note that messing with your root could fuck up yo ipodtouch/phone only use your root folder var
