why the fvck did you decide to scroll the text OVER the video???? this is ridiculous, people want to see what you’re doing and the text is blocking the way!!! horrible video, yet made with good and useful intentions.
@MilkMan778 the backlight is part of the LCD … if you have a 2g it is the same thing as in my video… if you have a 3g you could also change the lcd only…
so there are several parts for the screen. the lcd and the outer screen. but i dont get it! what parts do i need. i ruined two different parts accidentally because i was being stupid. i broke the outer screen that has the digitizer and i also broke the one under that
I live in Texas and I know a company that can do digitizer repairs but they run a free diagnostic first to determine what the problem is…they are called Global Repair Solutions
you can try, but on a 2g it is very likely that you break your existing LCD while migrating it to the new digitizer (and break the new digitizer as well better get a combo replacement part… on a 3g i would guess it is possible to searate those two…
I’d like to know that as well. My 2G probably has a malfunctioning digitizer, since no amount of resetting and/or restoring will make the screen respond to anything. However, the glass and LCD panel are fine, so if possible I’d like to avoid having to replace those.
So is it simple to replace the digitizer and use the original glass? Most videos I’ve come across are of broken glass or glass with digitizers…. Also, there aren’t many good videos on how to open up the Iphone 2G, whether from the back or just from the front….. You think you could help out with that?
i bought the digitizer, lcd, front screen seperate. no adhesive was involved to make whole assembly. Put everything together and works 98 percent. the digitizer works but then after 45 sec it stops. I turn off and and turn back on the iphone and the digitizer works again.
any idea on why the digitizer acts on and off like that? you think i need to glue the parts together. your assembly looks all in contact. If so what glue do i need??
you should disassemble the devie again and recheck all the connectors. it sounds as if the flat ribbon cable from the usb port has not been connected correctly… hopefully you did not damage other parts… good luck!
I followed your instruction and it was succesful, but now it is TURNING ON ITSELF and NOT CHARGING, NOT DETECTED by a Computer. I’ve tried to plugin wall charger, computer to charge/detected by computer but there is no success. Also it get very hot. Please help me to solve this problem? is it something wrong with the new digitizer?
so if my iphone screen in not responsive then the digitizer is mes up n i would have to replace it?

can you send me a link for the ebay item
I really want it..
do NOT put glue on the contacts please
you dont need to use any glue to reattach the cables…
now when i connect the 3 cables back to their holes, do i need to glue them back on or just attach them without glue?
were did u buy the replacement digitizer
