The external microphone must be designed to be compatible with the iPhone headphone jack or dock connector, such as earplugs or authorized Apple brand, and marked Apple “Works with iPhone” logo of the third-party accessories. But it not create a voice, May be some issue with this. Please help me. Thanks.

You need to check the left side of the main screen, tap the “Voice memo” to enter Main Menu.
